Dehydration, not food hunger, causes 75% of Hunger pangs. Even mild dehydration can cause up to 5 kg weight gain naturally, over time.
Conscious Hydraters who replace sugary drinks with water lose an extra 3 kilos a year and those who drink a couple of more cups of water a day increase weight loss by an extra 2 kilos a year.
The researchers estimate that over the course of an year, a person who increases his water consumption by around a liter a day would burn an extra 17,400 calories, triggering a weight loss of approximately three kilos.
40% of the increase in calorie burning is caused by the body’s attempt to process the ingested water.
