Dr. Elizabeth Blackburn, a biological researcher at the University of California, shared the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 2009 for her co-discovery of an enzyme ‘telomerase’. This enzyme influences the length of telomeres, the chromosome protecting structures.
According to an ongoing research by Dr. Blackburn and her colleagues, the telomerase activity goes up by 30% after 4 to 6 months of regular meditation. Meditation slows age related cognition decline; turns back the internal clock
