The State of Uttarakhand in India is located in the scenic natural setting amidst the mighty Himalayas. The state has many destinations which are popular for teaching yoga, meditation, Ayurveda and other naturopathy practices. A number of yoga and meditation centers are spread out in different cities and towns of Uttarakhand. These offer teacher training courses (TTCs), retreats and workshops. Many of these also offer classes online. Some of these are dedicated to research programs in ancient wellness disciplines. 1. Rishikesh- Think about yoga and meditation in Uttarakhand and the first name that comes to mind is that of Rishikesh. Over the last three decades, Rishikesh has emerged as the hub of learning ancient wellness practices, from yoga and meditation to cooking traditional Indian food. Majority of centers listed below are based in Rishikesh.

3. Uttarkashi- Uttarkashi is a small town on the banks of River Bhagirathi in the State of Uttarakhand. The place is known for its yoga and meditation centers, retreats and natural setting. 5. Kanatal- Kanatal is a small village in Uttarakhad situated at a distance of about 80 km from Dehradun. This village is home to some meditation and yoga retreats and centers. The advantage is its beautiful natural setting away from the hustle and bustle of city which is conducive for learning wellness practices. The Yoga Ganga is situated near Ganga at the Santosh Puri Ashram. Your stay in ashram will all be on a consistent daily routine, chant of prayers, karma yoga, etc. They also organise international wellness workshops.
There are two types of courses specifically offered to the people who enrol. First being a general introduction to Ayurveda, which is a 14-day course, the second is a set of certificate courses that go on for a month.

Sivananda Kutir, Uttarkashi, Himalayas is located on the banks of Ganga river. It offers teacher training courses and Sadhana intensive courses each year to a maximum of 30 students. The ashram has widely spread itself to the Gangotri road, precisely located in the Natala village. It further organises courses for kids to impart the knowledge of yoga and get them to the path of positivity.
The major teacher training course at Sivananda Kutir is a 4-week course. The teaching system is based on the traditional gurukul system where necessary lessons for a teacher are imparted. 10/19. Dhamma Salila Vipassana Meditation Centre. Jantanwala village, Dehradun

Purn Vidya is an organisation that provides a comprehensive learning program empowering and engaging people into the spiritual ecology. It has one of its prime centres in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand known as Tapasyalayam. It offers various courses and programmes based on the Vedic teaching of Oneness and Harmony.
They offer courses such as Advaita Vedanta Course for one month, three months, six months and one year. Further, they organise retreats for adults, families as well as for youth which is usually a one-week program. The yoga courses are majorly based on Yin Yoga.

Omkarananda Ganga Sadan is a guesthouse in whose premises is the famous yoga center, Patanjala Yoga Kendra, set up since 1993. Vedansha Institute of Vedic Sciences and Alternative Medicine offers teacher training courses and treatments in Yoga, Meditation, Pranayama and Reiki.

Osho Gangadham Ashram is situated on the banks of River Ganga. The center provides meditation classes and individual sessions as per the teachings of Osho Rajneesh. The aim is to bring about inner transformation of the person, to make him more self-aware.
